Myofascial pain syndrome is a condition of pain both acute and chronic of the muscles or fascia that will affect sensory, motor, or autonomic; myofascial pain can be active or latent. Many cases of myofascial pain syndrome are often not diagnosed appropriately so that the treatment given is not optimal. A 46-years-old male bishop came to pain clinic with complaints of back pain since 2015, which has become increasingly by time. From general and neurological examination is normal. In the examination the numeric rating scale (NRS) when in stay was 6 and moving was 4. The localis status, positive jump sign palpation was obtained in bilateral of multifidus region, right longissimus and right side of quadratus lumborum. The management of myofascial pain syndrome can be phamacologic and non-pharmacological, for non-pharmacological therapy can be divided into invasive and non-invasive. One of the most effective invasive therapies is dry needling. Superficial and deep dry needling technique is proven to be effective in reducing pain due to MTrPs.
